This years most idiotic research, and winner of the 2007 Bloody Obvious Award, is the revelation that the performance of Irish traveller and Roma pupils at school has slumped alarmingly in the past five years.

This may have something to do with the fact that as 'Travellers' or 'Gypsys' they are actually on the road travelling with their parents and not at school.
This may then affect their exam results.
