Spring Haiku
The sultry sigh of early spring,
Mist and mellow golden light,
A strangers first kiss.
The woods are dark and wet,
Groaning with secret passions,
Aching slits of soil.
Now the darkness retreats,
For golden sun rays have come,
And re-enter Eden.
Snowdrops awaken,
Victors of the titanic struggle,
Pale guardians of the gate.
