The Lesson of Nahr Al-Bared

There is an important lesson we need to learn from the battle between the Lebanese government and Al Qaeda terrorist group Fatah Al Islam.

There are only between 100 - 150 armed men in the Fatah group, a similar number to those terrorists who were in active service units of the IRA at its peak.

Yet the damage caused to Lebanon by the groups resistance to the government crackdown and the vast amount of damage caused to the city infrastructure during this conflict shows how just easily a tiny group of Islamist terrorists can resist the onslaught of a government armed with tanks, artillery and overwhelming superiority of numbers.

In the UK there are tens of thousands of trained Islamist terrorists who have entered Britain from war zones around the world. They have been trained in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Chechnya and Algerias and many other nations. There are also hundreds of thousands of those in the UK who support the aims, goals and methods of the terrorists in the UK who provide funds and logistical support for the terrorists. Poll after poll in the UK has shown a sizeable group of radical islamists present in the country who are prepared to fund and support Jihad in the UK.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the poll found the following in the outlook of 16-24 year old and those aged over 55:

* 40% of 16-24 year olds would prefer to live under Sharia law as against 17% of over 55s.

* 12.5% of 16-24 year olds admire al Qa-aeda as against 3% of over 55s.

* 30% of 16-24 year olds favour the killing of apostates from Islam as against 19% of over 55s.

* 75% of 16-24 year olds prefer Muslim women to wear a veil as against 25% of over 55s.

* 40% of 16-24 year olds prefer Muslim schools for Muslim children as against 20% of over 55s.

The UK has never in its history faced a threat like this.

Weapons from the Balkans are being shipped into the UK from Islamic terrorists with links to Islamist groups like the KLA and others. The terrorists in the UK are armed with the latest assault weapons and explosives. They are merely biding their time for the right moment to strike.

If these people can smuggle guns and coccaine into the country, then using the same routes they can smuggle in explosives.

At the same time the West is losing the will to fight the Islamist menace, as Bernard Lewis has noted here ;

"Muslims 'about to take over Europe,'" by David Machlis and Tovah Lazaroff in the Jerusalem Post, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

Islam could soon be the dominant force in a Europe which, in the name of political correctness, has abdicated the battle for cultural and religious control, Prof. Bernard Lewis, the world-renowned Middle Eastern and Islamic scholar, said on Sunday.

The Muslims "seem to be about to take over Europe," Lewis said at a special briefing with the editorial staff of The Jerusalem Post. Asked what this meant for the continent's Jews, he responded, "The outlook for the Jewish communities of Europe is dim." Soon, he warned, the only pertinent question regarding Europe's future would be, "Will it be an Islamized Europe or Europeanized Islam?" The growing sway of Islam in Europe was of particular concern given the rising support within the Islamic world for extremist and terrorist movements, said Lewis.
Lewis, whose numerous books include the recent What Went Wrong?: The Clash Between Islam and Modernity in the Middle East, and The Crisis of Islam: Holy War and Unholy Terror, would set no timetable for this drastic shift in Europe, instead focusing on the process, which he said would be assisted by "immigration and democracy." Instead of fighting the threat, he elaborated, Europeans had given up.

"Europeans are losing their own loyalties and their own self-confidence," he said. "They have no respect for their own culture." Europeans had "surrendered" on every issue with regard to Islam in a mood of "self-abasement," "political correctness" and "multi-culturalism," said Lewis, who was born in London to middle-class Jewish parents but has long lived in the United States.

The whole process of the takeover of the West has already been mapped out by Al Aqaeda strategists ;,1518,369448,00.html

The First Phase Known as "the awakening" -- this has already been carried out and was supposed to have lasted from 2000 to 2003, or more precisely from the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 in New York and Washington to the fall of Baghdad in 2003. The aim of the attacks of 9/11 was to provoke the US into declaring war on the Islamic world and thereby "awakening" Muslims. "The first phase was judged by the strategists and masterminds behind al-Qaida as very successful," writes Hussein. "The battle field was opened up and the Americans and their allies became a closer and easier target." The terrorist network is also reported as being satisfied that its message can now be heard "everywhere."

The Second Phase "Opening Eyes" is, according to Hussein's definition, the period we are now in and should last until 2006. Hussein says the terrorists hope to make the western conspiracy aware of the "Islamic community." Hussein believes this is a phase in which al-Qaida wants an organization to develop into a movement. The network is banking on recruiting young men during this period. Iraq should become the center for all global operations, with an "army" set up there and bases established in other Arabic states.

The Third Phase This is described as "Arising and Standing Up" and should last from 2007 to 2010. "There will be a focus on Syria," prophesies Hussein, based on what his sources told him. The fighting cadres are supposedly already prepared and some are in Iraq. Attacks on Turkey and -- even more explosive -- in Israel are predicted. Al-Qaida's masterminds hope that attacks on Israel will help the terrorist group become a recognized organization. The author also believes that countries neighboring Iraq, such as Jordan, are also in danger.

The Fourth Phase Between 2010 and 2013, Hussein writes that al-Qaida will aim to bring about the collapse of the hated Arabic governments. The estimate is that "the creeping loss of the regimes' power will lead to a steady growth in strength within al-Qaida." At the same time attacks will be carried out against oil suppliers and the US economy will be targeted using cyber terrorism.

The Fifth Phase This will be the point at which an Islamic state, or caliphate, can be declared. The plan is that by this time, between 2013 and 2016, Western influence in the Islamic world will be so reduced and Israel weakened so much, that resistance will not be feared. Al-Qaida hopes that by then the Islamic state will be able to bring about a new world order.

The Sixth Phase Hussein believes that from 2016 onwards there will a period of "total confrontation." As soon as the caliphate has been declared the "Islamic army" it will instigate the "fight between the believers and the non-believers" which has so often been predicted by Osama bin Laden.

The Seventh Phase This final stage is described as "definitive victory." Hussein writes that in the terrorists' eyes, because the rest of the world will be so beaten down by the "one-and-a-half billion Muslims," the caliphate will undoubtedly succeed. This phase should be completed by 2020, although the war shouldn't last longer than two years.

The lesson of Nahr Al-Bared is that just a hundred trained, determined and well armed terrorists can devastate a community and hold out against the State. A few thousand can take over a country.

The British government would never send in troops and tanks to quell a rebellion by Islamists in the UK, because the simpering liberals and the Sharia Socialists of the left and the Dhimmi-Nationalists of the Right would never allow it to happen - whilst Sunni nations like Saudi Arabia would threaten to stop the supply of oil into the UK if we crushed the insurrection.

The lesson the Islamic extremists have learnt that is the Jihad begins slowly - street by street build an enclave and then colonise it with your fighters. Then the process begins of using that base for further social expansion. They then scream 'racism ' and Islamaphobia at anyone who dares defy them and their activities and use Left Wing lawyers to defend themselves and attack the nation via Legal Assymetric Warfare techniques.

Those that work for terrorists and who self enrich themselves with tax payers money assisting terrorists are the agents of the terrorists in a war by proxy. The greatest propagandists of the terrorists are the left wing media newspapers and reactionary right newspapers. The Left wing papers support the Islamists as part of the Sharia Socialist Front and the right wing newspapers are owned and controlled by those in the pay of Saudi Arabian oil interests and those corporations they depend upon for advertising that are owned by Saudi Arabian investment groups.

The fact that the UK government admits that we have tens of thousands of trained terrorists in the UK involved in hundreds of plots to attack our country, but will not intern them, means they are free to build that base whilst we sit back and watch and can only act until they either are about to strike, or have struck.

MI5's previous ability to detect and prevent such attacks does not inspire confidence in the future for our ability to respond to such threats.

The Liberal Consensus that dominated the 20th Century is over.

We now require the creation of a National Security Consensus that overides the old liberal consensus.

If just one terrorist group blew up a nuclear power station in the UK then the effect it would have on our country would be devastating.

Whilst the simpering, hand wringing, liberals and their dhimmi lackeys all prefer to place all our lives in the hands of MI5 and the Police , we believe that it is time that more pro-active measures were taken.

At a minimum these are ;

1) The return of the death penalty for convicted terrorists, those convicted of preparing acts of terrorism and those funding and those convicted of assisting acts of terrorism

2) Internment for those suspected of being involved in terrorism

3) the immediate deportation of all individuals and dependents of those who have been involved in terrorism in the past and who have been involved in terrorism in their own home countries

4) the definition of terrorism to be increased to cover the promotion, support, funding, assistance and apologism of terrorism

5) the deportation or imprisonment and seizure of all assets of all those involved in the unlawful and illegal transfer of money into and outside the country via the Hawala system

6) the execution of all those involved in smuggling guns into the country

7) the execution of all those involved in importing explosives into the country

The battle of Nahr Al-Bared is a lesson we need to learn from fast.

If we dont then the terrorists in the UK may have already won, its just that we arent aware of it yet.

Hello Mr Barnes, you are the columnist that most approaches my views and im glad to see you have set up this blog. I find what you write to be stimulating and it renews my hope for the future. Ive also seen a video of one of your speeches and thought you presented your subject well.

I have just come here for the first time from the link on the BNP main site and I see that, at the bottom of one of your earlier posts, you confess to not having much knowledge of blogger and blogspot. Well, i run the blog "BNP and me", here;

And would like to offer my help in developing the html and features of your blog as you would wish.

Onwards and upwards!

It's hard to see how any Government in the UK, bar a BNP Government, would have the political knowhow, or moral courage to do anything about this.
Very worrying.

The third fase you mention consists of arising or standing up, this certainly corresponds with the recent fly postings and website that specifically calls for Rising up against British Oppression.
Thanks for the indepth post Lee and finding the time for blogging!
