New prison has en suite cells and flatscreen televisions

Inmates at a new maximum-security prison are to have en-suite cells with flatscreen televisions.

Prisoners at the privately-run HMP Addiewell in West Lothian will also be able to check dinner menus and order their meals in advance.

The first 30 prisoners - who volunteered to be housed there - will arrive next week.

Politicians have raised concerns over the level of comfort at the jail, but the new governor defended the modern facilities.

While many prisoners in Scotland still suffer Victorian conditions, the inmates at Addiewell will enjoy facilities including a Microsoft computer room, a library and a gym hall and fitness suite.

The 12 wings also have "electronic kiosks" so that prisoners can check menus and order meals, check how much money they have in their accounts, top-up phone accounts and order goods from the canteen.

Audrey Park, the prison director (governor), said that only flatscreen televisions were available to purchase, they were "only 15in" and they came with Freeview built in.

She added: "You can't not have it. I would describe the cells as decent cells for a 21st-century Scotland where prisoners have the ability to shower in their cell.

"At the end of the day, any prison cell is a concrete box which we shut at night. The punishment is losing one's liberty.

"I'm always hoping for innovation and prepared to try things without getting lambasted by the media."

But Bill Aitken, the Scottish Tory justice spokesman, questioned whether the conditions would provide a real deterrent.

He said: "I do not wish prisoners to live in Dickensian squalor, but there does come a time when the level of comfort does not provide any real deterrent to offending.

"By the sounds of Addiewell, we have reached that stage there.

"There are many people who might think that in these times of financial hardship, prisoners are getting a chance to live in conditions not available to the poorer, law-abiding sections of our society."

5000 Pakistani Butchers On Way to UK

What more needs to be said.

Unreal.

As if we dont have enough animal torturers and psychopaths who could do the job in the UK of cutting the throats of unstunned animals, so why are we importing in immigrant animal torturers ?

I have been a vegetarian for twenty five years - and this Halal and Kosher meat animal abuse disgusts me.

The Lawyers Begin To Scent Blood In The Water

Finally the lawyers are waking up to the fact that big bucks payouts are available to BNP members.

Note that the only organisations that have an UNLAWFUL ban on the BNP are the Police and the HMP Prison Service.

The army has stated in in its Part One orders last week that it is lawful to be a BNP member and for armed services personel to attend BNP meeting even in uniform.

Republishing BNP data may not be lawful

Author: Warwick Ashford Posted: 12:36 28 Nov 2008

The British National Party data leak that exposed thousands of members' details raises important personal data issues, says international law firm Eversheds.

Simply because information is publicly available online, does not make it lawful to use any personal data involved, said Paula Barrett, partner in the IT group at Eversheds.

"Care must be taken by employers and other third-parties seeking to make use of such details to ensure that such processing does not inadvertently place them in breach of data protection legislation," she said.

Data protection rights are not conditional upon beliefs of the individual involved and the publication of personal data creates potential criminal and civil liabilities for anyone involved, said Barrett.

"Even where membership of a lawful political party causes concern, particularly in a democracy, those party members have the same rights as members of any other political party to have their personal data protected," added Barrett.

BNP members have expressed concerns about potential backlashes and job losses after being exposed as members of the far-right party.

It is illegal for armed forces personnel and police officers to be members of a political party and other are in roles where membership of the BNP may be frowned upon.

Barret said employers considering dismissal or disciplinary action as a result of these details must also ensure they comply with employment laws otherwise they may face action for unfair dismissal and/or discrimination on the grounds of race or belief.

Innes Clark: Taking prejudices to work is fraught with potential for pitfall

« Previous « PreviousNext » Next »View GalleryPublished Date: 01 December 2008
DO WE take our prejudices to work with us? Or can we, as British National Party leader Nick Griffin suggested, "leave them at the door?"

The recent disclosure on a website of a membership list of the BNP (which purportedly included police officers, medical professionals, soldiers and teachers) and the resulting media attention has raised an important issue for employers.

In a coADVERTISEMENTnflict between the beliefs or prejudices of an employer and their employee, can an employer discipline or dismiss the employee?

Can they refuse employment to someone holding beliefs with which they disagree?

The law in the UK on this issue is complex. Employers must remember that there are limited grounds upon which a fair dismissal can take place. In addition, protection is afforded to employees with relevant "religious or philosophical beliefs".

There have been many tribunal cases where employers have dismissed employees for actions taken outwith the workplace that have been considered to adversely affect their ability to do their job.

Membership of the BNP has, in itself, created a particular string of cases. In 2006, a bus driver was dismissed when he stood as a BNP candidate.

His employer was concerned that his public association with the party posed a health and safety risk to users of its service, employees and to the driver himself. The fact that he worked in a mainly Asian community was a key factor.

The claimant argued unsuccessfully that the decision to dismiss him amounted to discrimination on racial grounds.

In a subsequent case, an applicant for a job was rejected due to his active membership of the BNP. His argument that he had been discriminated against was thrown out by the tribunal that ruled the membership of the party did not bring the claimant within the terms of 2003 Regulations that protected people from discrimination on the ground of religion or "similar philosophical belief".

Both of these cases preceded a change of the law in April 2007 when the word "similar" was dropped from the definition of the prohibited discrimination.

This, it could be argued, widens the potential extent of the protections afforded by the Regulations as it no longer limits the requirement of the philosophical outlook to be similar in definition to a "religious belief".

Despite government statements to the contrary, this appears to open the field to arguments that political views could now be protected as a philosophical belief. A tribunal decision interpreting the amended legislation may be forthcoming if anyone on the published list now loses their job as a result of their membership of the BNP.

Certain jobs do have policies that prohibit membership of certain organisations including the BNP.

These include police officers and members of the prison service who justify their prohibition on the grounds that membership of specific organisations is entirely incompatible with working in those roles.

Such rules do not apply to members of other professions such as doctors or nurses although both are bound by codes of practice that would prohibit membership if it was contrary to the proper performance of the role.

The European Court of Human Rights has indicated that a union could not dismiss a member even if they belonged to a political organisation that had beliefs or aims contrary to the union's rules or objectives. However, the Employment Act 2008, which received Royal Assent last month, reverses the position.

While membership of a specific fringe political party has created the latest flurry of headlines, the fact that employment law provides protection to employees who have beliefs (even those contrary to those of their employer) remains.

An employer who dismisses an employee must overcome the hurdle of having to establish that the dismissal was for a fair reason.

Unless they can link the belief to an inability or direct conflict with performing the job, the dismissal could well be unfair.

Overall, those who can argue successfully that the relevant element of their private life comes within the definition of "religion or philosophical belief" will have additional protections. But those whose beliefs cannot be described as within that ambit still have the right not to be unfairly dismissed assuming they have over a year's service.

Employers need to be careful as to how far they can allow their own personal views to colour their judgment about employment and recruitment.

Where do they draw the line? Could membership of golf clubs that do not permit female members, be a ground for action? It seems unlikely, no matter what an employer's view is on the rights or wrongs of such golf clubs' policies.

However, in such subjective and sensitive matters the views and perceptions of the public evolve. Employers need to keep this in mind when dealing with this very topical issue.

Melanie Phillips Lies Again !

Melanie has an interesting article in todays The Daily Mail - but yet again Melanie lies in it.

Here is what melanie says in the article ;

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1090762/MELANIE-PHILLIPS-The-Mumbai-atrocity-wake-frighteningly-unprepared-Britain.html

"
The Mumbai attackers targeted British, American and Indian citizens simply because they wanted to kill as many British, American and Indian 'unbelievers' as possible.

Where they found Muslims, they spared them.

They also singled out for slaughter the occupants of the Chabad House, a pious Jewish outreach organisation with no Israeli or political agenda - underscoring the point that at the core of the Islamists' hatred of Israel festers their hatred of the Jews. "

Lets analyse Melanies lies and propaganda a point at a time ;

1) Melanie says - " The Mumbai attackers targeted British, American and Indian citizens simply because they wanted to kill as many British, American and Indian 'unbelievers' as possible. "

Lie 1 = In The Daily Mail on the 1st December 2008 the actual words of the terrorist captured by Indian police were these - and this is a direct quote from The Daily Mail itself - " He described how its mastermind briefed the group to ‘target whites, preferably Americans and British’. "

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1090546/I-told-kill-breath-Captured-terrorists-account-Mumbai-massacre-reveals-plan-kill-5-000.html

So here we see that Melanie has deliberately removed the word 'WHITE' from the actual statement of the terrorist. Why remove this word, which reveals the PRIMARY targets of the terrorists, and then create a false perception of the terrorists real targets ?

Yet again melanie distorts the truth for her own political ends.

So now we need to analyse what Melanies ends are - and here she states it clearly ;

2) "They also singled out for slaughter the occupants of the Chabad House, a pious Jewish outreach organisation with no Israeli or political agenda - underscoring the point that at the core of the Islamists' hatred of Israel festers their hatred of the Jews. "

Melanies aim is to create out of the terrorist attack a public perception that the primary victims of the attacks were Jews, in order to sustain and create the myth that Jews and Israel are the primary victims of Islamist terrorism.

At the same time in order to bolster her ' myth' she has to minimise and downplay the racist nature of the attacks on WHITES by the terrorists.

Note that the Daily Mail article, which quotes directly from the terrorist himself, does not AT ANY POINT state that the primary, or even secondary victims , of the terrorists were Jews or the occupants of Chabad House - the primary victim of the terrorists, as confirmed by the captured terrorist himself were WHITES.

So where does mel get the idea that the terrorists ' singled out for slaughter Jews' - nowhere at all except in her twisted perception of reality.

Melanie is simply a Zionist propagandist - a hypocrite of the highest order who attacks the BNP for defending the interests of BRITISH WHITES , the primary targets of the attacks, but who will use this attack to uphold the myth that Jews are the primary targets of these groups simply because it suits her political agenda to do so.

But no-one in the mainstream media will dare to challenge for her lies and her disgusting distortion of the truth - simply because it means they would be butting heads with the Zionist Media Network in the UK.

This article of Melanie Phillips is a disgraceful article, for her to minimise the suffering of WHITE BRITISH citizens who died in the attacks as a way to uphold the 'martyr complex' of Jews and to support Israel is a disgusting thing to do.

This article speaks more about Melanie Phillips real agenda than any previous one of her turgid missives has ever done before.

It reveals how insensitive she is to the WHITE British in the attacks and how she will use this attack to bolster the state of Israel itself.

For Melanie the WHITE British dead are simply propaganda tools to be deployed in her defence of Israel.

This article will be used against Phillips in the years to come as an example of how she will distort the truth, and peddle false perceptions to the public, as a way to bolster her own pro-Israel agenda.

Once upon a time this sort of article was called PROPAGANDA.

It is not truth , it is not even comment - it is the peddling of deliberate lies to the public.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Melanie standing up her own Jewish ethnic group and the interests of Israel, in fact in our Multi-Cultural society she is celebrated and applauded for doing so, yet at the same time as she stands up for the interests of Israel and Jews Melanie attacks the BNP for standing up for the interests of the WHITE BRITISH - that is the most stinking hypocrisy one can imagine.

Phil Woolas Reveals the Race Relations Agenda

Interesting interview with Phil Woolas in The Independent - the best bits are below ;

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/profiles/phil-woolas-you-ask-the-questions-1042756.html

Who are the "vested interests" that want unjustified asylum-seekers to get into the country? What is their secret agenda? BROOKE LAWRENCE, Carlisle

It is not secret. Some legal advisers and special interest groups play the system to delay removals without justification. This offers false hope. In the past three years, the courts have found nearly 100 cases of vexatious judicial review. I want to put a stop to last-ditch judicial reviews, unfounded asylum claims and disruption of removals. When an independent judge tells people they have no right to stay we expect them to go home voluntarily.

So Phil confirms that whilst legal aid is being cut back for British citizens, any sponging swine from some rathole on the planet that they have ****ed up and then left, is allowed to claim legal aid just as long as they step one foot on British soil - and therefore the Race Relations parasites and law firms that feed off the public purse grow rich.

In 2003, you said attacks on whites were not condemned as forcefully as attacks on ethnic minorities. Do you still think discrimination against whites is underplayed? ELISE FLETCHER, Compton

Racial violence is abhorrent in any form and something we must stamp out in British society. We are committed to supporting victims no matter what their background or ethnicity. I agree with Oona King, who pointed out to a largely white Parliament that black on Chinese, Asian on white, white on black and other discrimination exists. Condemn it all and be seen to do so and we will heal our society of it.

Really Phil - what have you done to help White British victims of racism - NOTHING THATS WHAT !

Not one charity exists to help white victims of racism - and the police in Liverpool arrest 13 people who distribute leaflets that try and raise the issue in public.

Typical new labour weasel.

You said Boris Johnson was naïve just for commissioning a study into the possibility of having an amnesty for London's illegal immigrants. How can studying the issue be bad? CHARIS PAYNE, Ampleforth, NORTH YORKSHIRE

It is naïve because an amnesty and the suggestion of an amnesty will create problems not solve them. To grant or suggest an amnesty creates a significant "pull" factor to the UK, profits the people traffickers, causes more misery and makes it more difficult to help the persecuted.

Does the BNP's strength in your Oldham constituency affect how you think about immigration? ISAAC MORRISON, Oldham

So far, thank goodness, we have beaten them. As you know, my seat is a Labour-Liberal Democrat marginal with an ethnic minority population greater than my majority. This is not about pandering to the right-wing. It is about having a working policy that carries confidence precisely so that we can be fair as a society to immigrants. Read the Cantle report about the Oldham riots. It is fair to say that the lesson of the BNP's success in Oldham was in part because we didn't talk about the issues enough.
